COMMUNICATION CHALLENGES

Increase awareness of Qatar Airways as symbolising “Excellence” in aviation and tourism.

Position as “The Premium International Five Star Airline”.

To communicate corporate information: new routes and services, fleet, cargo business and destinations – especially new routes, to increase awareness of the company.

 

STRATEGIC APPROACH

In order to build a solid communications strategy, Blueroom localized the international strategy in the markets of Spain and Portugal. The goal was to create a communications strategy for the Spanish & Portuguese markets which combines and balances the brand and company philosophy and objectives, together with the local culture, sensibilities and behavioral patterns of the Spanish culture.

 

MEDIA RELATIONS

Blueroom’s media relations program includes intensive daily front office activities and press release distribution. Releases are then adapted to specific audience languages (Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan) for regionalized information, such as increase of capacity from Barcelona airport.

Following the international strategy, Doha has been positioned as a key stopover destination. Blueroom has developed dedicated communications and reports around Doha.

Other projects developed within the media relations include interviews arrangement as well as press conference organization and assistance during the main Spanish tourism fair (FITUR).

Blueroom also handles media requests regarding press trips, and organized several press trips with key media, bloggers and influencers, as well as celebrities. Several of these trips included partnerships arranged by Blueroom, such as Tourism Authority of Thailand.
